  • Ford & Walnut Street Improvements – Partnered with Dover to complete both roads rather than stop at the town line.

  • County Road – Main Street Extension
        - DEP approved all permits required to move ahead with the project

  • First Aid Squad Building is renovated and the First Aid Squad moved into their new home.

2011:
  • Canal Restoration
      - Project has been substantially completed with the final work to be completed in the spring.
     - We received a grant for $582,000 for this project
  • Union, Oak, Clarence & Theodore Improvements
     - Received a Grant for $80,000 towards this project.
  • Third Street Curbs
     - ​As a result of favorable bid prices we were able to add the full length of Third Street curbing to the 2011 projects
    - We will be paving Third Street in 2012
  • Pine Street Water Main Upgrade
    - This was done as part of a cooperative project with NJNG who will also be replacing their gas main once we are done.
    - This project moves us closer to completing the water system reinforcement program that we have been working on for the past 10 years.
    - Survived Hurricane Irene and the Halloween Snow Storm

2012:
  • Park Improvements:
    - Canal Restoration
         - Phase 1 of the Project has been completed.
            - We received a grant for $582,000 for this project
        - Phase 2 is anticipated to begin Spring of 2013 received a grant for $286,450
    - Robert Street Dugout Projects
            - We bid the project in 2011 but all improvements were completed in 2012 ahead of the baseball season.

  • Road Improvements:
     - Fern Avenue Water Main Phase I – Received a grant for $80,000
     - Pine Street Curbing Project – replace curbing on the western side of Pine Street
     - Pine Street/West Central Avenue road resurfacing project in partnership with NJNG.
     - West Central Avenue Sidewalk and Street Improvements – will be completed in March of 2013

  • Municipal Building Improvements:
    - Carpeting
    - Meeting Room Makeover
    - DPW Building Façade and Roof project – expected to be complete early in 2013
    - Purchased Collinson Property for use by Water/Sewer Department.

Other Areas:
  • Survived Hurricane Sandy and yet another Halloween Storm.
     - All of the improvements made to our water system are why our residents don’t need to worry about water supply during these difficult times
           -Electronic message board – purchase first on in 2012 with another anticipated to be purchased in 2013

     - Princeton Avenue – Received a grant for $120,000.

     - West Central Avenue

  • Park Improvements:
     - Tennis Courts – Robert Street Park
     - New Basketball Half Court at Robert Street
     - ​West Central Avenue Park (“Betty Poyer Field”) which will be the site of future venues.
     - Hugh Force Park Improvements

  • Communications
     - Radio Station – AM 1620 is up and running. We will utilize this station in times of extreme emergency.
      ​ Under normal conditions we will provide information about the town and also upcoming events.

  • Main Street Decorations – you may have noticed the holiday wreaths. There is more to come.

2014:
  • Road Improvements
      - Fern Avenue Water Main Phase III – Road Resurfacing Project, Received a grant for $80,000
      - Summit, Meadow, Bermingham, Park, Wilcox Road Resurfacing
      - Applied for a grant to do water main replacement on Second Street
      - Route 15 Watermain Upgrade and Replacement

      - Canal Restoration Phase II – Complete the walls and install the gate ($286,450 Grant)
      - Historic Water Fountain at Robert Street Park renovated
